About

Boudoir2u, our places and processes...

Recognising every aspect of you and your sensuality and bringing that to the fore in the images and video we create with you is my raison d'être. You will be empowered by the experience and celebration of you.

You choose the location and our equipment and techniques bring out the best in the scene as well as the subject. Given some space, use of focus techniques, lighting and angles to work we can make any location work for the success of the shoot.

Sometimes the convenience and comfort of your own home can really make the experience work for you.

Boudoir2u

“It's in the quiet moments, draped in elegance, that we truly find ourselves. Boudoir isn't just photography; it's a revelation of your most powerful self.”

Home

Your own home can be an ideal space for shooting, especially to create that special boudoir effect. Professional (Lenses) gear and lighting can create a flattering backdrop with the convenience of location.

Hotels

Hotels, serviced apartments and Airbnb locations can create the air of a luxury or themed setting. In all cases working space is an important consideration when selecting such a location. (apps such as dayuse.com offer attaractive short term daytime rates)

Studios

Commercial hire studios have limited staging and furnishing, but have the space to create and focus all attention on the subject. For special shoots they also offer the most in effects and lighting. There are several 3rd party studios we can organise depending on location and requirements.

Special Setups

In most setups where the ambient lighting can be controlled it is possible to set up effects like low key lighting for for a special themed look and style. Even remote outdoor locations offer creative options.

FAQ's

The usual answer is YES ... any reasonably uncluttered space can work. The pro lenses I use can blur backgroud detail well, and lighting techniques can create great images whilst focussing on the subject.

During daylight hours give you the most light options, which can be enhanced with my portable studio quality lighting.

Lingerie and Wardrobe Ideas

Sometimes an oversized white collared shirt can make a great accessory. You don’t need a suitcase full of clothes, but having 3–4 distinct looks is ideal.

With lingerie single contrast colours tend to work well  (hence the classic black look).

The Bodysuit: High-cut bodysuits are incredibly flattering for all body shapes and help elongate the legs.

The Robe: A sheer or silk floor-length robe adds movement and a touch of “old Hollywood” glamour.

Let your imagination run wild and don't stress as the shoot is all about you ...

NB. PLEASE ENSURE YOU CUT OUT ANY VISIBLE TAGS PRIOR

My rule of thumb is perhaps 3 per hour, but if you have more bring them and we will shoot the favourites first ... if we have time for others then we can work them in.

Preparing Your Body for Boudoir Photos

The most beautiful thing you can wear to your session is healthy, glowing skin. High-end cameras pick up incredible detail, so focusing on skin health in the week leading up to your shoot is essential.

The Power of Hydration (The “Water” Rule)

If there is one “magic” tip for a boudoir shoot, it is drinking water. Proper hydration plumps the skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and helps diminish under-eye circles. Aim for at least eight glasses a day, starting a week before your session. This natural internal “facial” ensures your skin looks luminous under the studio lights.

The Golden Rule of Tanning

While a sun-kissed look is lovely, proceed with caution. Avoid spray tans within 7 days of your shoot. Spray tans can often lean orange or settle into dry patches (like elbows and knees) in ways that are difficult to correct in post-processing. If you must tan, professional airbrushing done 4–5 days prior is safer than a booth, but natural skin tones often photograph most timelessly.

Grooming and Hair Removal

When to wax before a boudoir session? Timing is everything. If you wax, do it at least 3 to 5 days before your shoot to allow any redness or bumps to subside. If you prefer shaving, do it the night before using a fresh razor and plenty of moisturizing cream to avoid irritation.

Some photographers have a problem with this, but if you want them to share the experience with you I am happy for them to be present if you are.

My motto is that you can be as "mild or wild as you desire". As long as all involved are all consenting adults and free of coercion.

The nature of my business relies on a mutual trust to protect your images (and identity). I am happy to provide a signed NDA (Not Disclosure Agreement). No images of you are published to any outside individuals, public or media, without your express permission.

"Whatever the location and the style you are looking for, I wild work with you to capture the experience and images you want with my motto at the forefront ... You can be as mild or wild as you desire."
